Team advances to World Championship in April

The St. Peter’s School Brickbusters FIRST LEGO League Team 8631, from East Troy, earned the State Champion Robotics FLL Title for Wisconsin on Feb. 25 at Janesville Parker High School.

The Brickbusters will advance to the FIRST World Championships in Detroit, Michigan, at the end of April.

The Brickbuster team placed in the top three at the 2017 St. Louis World Tournament last year, out of 32,000 teams worldwide, earning them a Finalist Title.

“The Brickbusters are excited to represent East Troy on the world stage of robotics, once again,” teacher Jenni Lehman said. “The team is one of two FLL teams from Wisconsin heading to the World tournament to represent our state. This is the second year in a row for this team to win the Wisconsin State FLL title.

“Many of the members will be graduating this year and some hope to possibly continue with robotics at the high school level and continue their education in the areas of science or engineering.”
