Sip ‘N Purr, a wine and beer tasting event that also featured gourmet food sampling, was held at The Abbey Resort Feb. 10 and all proceeds benefited Lakeland Animal Shelter.

There were more than 40 silent auction packages available for bidding at the annual fundraiser and numerous raffle items on display. In addition to guests purchasing raffle tickets, for an additional $5, labels were printed to make the process of dropping tickets in buckets an easier task.

And for the wine drinkers, the event featured a Rack of Wine raffle. At that station, the purchase of a $10 tickets offered guests a chance to win 48 bottles of wine.

Adding to the ambience, the event also offered a Specialty Drink raffle that featured a signature cocktail – Green Iguana. For $20, guests could purchase the specialty drink and be entered to win a wine tasting party hosted by PRP Wine International for up to 12 people.

According to Kristen Perry, executive director at Lakeland Animal Shelter, this year’s Sip ‘N Purr event raised more than $20,000 and welcomed more than 175 attendees.
