LOIS GERTRUDE OLSEN IMHOFF

Lois Olsen Imhoff passed away peacefully by her son’s side on Feb. 26, 2018 in Tempe, Arizona.

She was born in 1919 to the Rev. Holden and Guida Winden Olsen, of Madison. Lois soon developed a sense of civic service and artistic patronage for which she was known throughout her life. While a student at University of Wisconsin-Madison, she met her husband of 49 years, Earl John Imhoff. The couple eventually settled in Chicago, where they raised their two children, Constance and Earl Jr. After retirement, they moved permanently to their home on Delavan Lake, where Lois continued her community involvement, most notably as a member and leader in the Monday Club and the Delavan United Church of Christ Congregational.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband; her sister Anne Aust; brothers Holden, Howard and Rolf Olsen; and grandsons R. Kirk Foster and Benjamin Imhoff. She will be remembered for her remarkable spirit and unwavering obligation to others by her surviving family – daughter Constance (Kirk) Foster; son Earl (Judith) Imhoff; sister Grace Norris; and grandchildren Robin Foster, Elisabeth and Julia Imhoff.

A family memorial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan in June. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the P.E.O. Foundation, a cause Lois supported throughout her life. Donations can be made at donations.peointernational.org/peo-donation-foundation.
