Elkhorn’s Daniel Stilling gave up two points in five matches and finished third at 132 pounds at the WIAA Division 1 State Individual Wrestling Meet.

The state meet took place Feb. 22-24 at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Grant Truesdale went 2-2 at 126 and did not place. Coleman Karl and Payton Jacobson each lost their first match.

Elkhorn’s four state entries qualified after finishing in the top two in their weight class Feb. 17 at a WIAA Division 1sectional meet at Stoughton.

Elks’ coach Ken Reynolds said Stilling had a tough draw, and should have wrestled for a title.

“He ran into a kid who is nationally ranked on his side of the bracket,” Reynolds said. “He had an outstanding tournament.”
