Now that the regular season is over, the Whitewater girls’ basketball team can focus on the postseason.
Before the regular season came to a close though, the Whippets split their last two Rock Valley Conference regular season games last week and ended the conference season on a positive note.
On Senior Night at home, Feb. 16, Whitewater won its last regular season game by 10 points to Clinton (61-51). Whitewater led at the half 30-18 and wasn’t threatened by the Cougars in the second half.
Senior guard Allison Heckert led three Whippet players in double figures with 20 points. Freshman guard Kacie Carollo also had a good game with 19 points and senior forward Ali Ketterhagen added 11.
The Whippets play tonight, Feb. 23, against Shoreland Lutheran at home at 7 p.m. in a WIAA regional.
