BLANCHE B. PETERS

Blanche B. Peters was born June 12, 1915, on her parents’ farm near Conde, S.D., to Glenn and Mary E. (Harwood) Bradley.

She passed away Feb. 2, 2018, at Golden Years of Walworth, under the care of Aurora at Home Hospice.

Growing up during the Dust Bowl Years of the Great Plains and the Great Depression, Blanche came to Wisconsin as a young woman. Blanche obtained her beautician’s training at the Madison School of Beauty and Culture. She worked as a beautician in Clinton before her marriage, and, after her marriage, she continued hair dressing in her home. Blanche and her husband, Keith, were married for 61 years and farmed in the Walworth area for many years, where they raised their four sons. She was a member of The Brick Church for over 50 years and in later years the Darien Baptist Church.

Blanche is survived by her sons, Bradley K. (Donna) Peters, of Belvidere, Ill., Alan R. (Susan) Peters, of Cheyenne, Wyo., David L. (Eliza) Peters, of Gambrills, Md.; daughter-in-law Donna Peters, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Darcey (Steven) Amundson, Adam (Amy) Peters, Rebecca Peters, Dennis Peters, Jacob Peters, Joshua Peters, Caleb Peters and Morgan Peters; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith J. Peters, whom she married Sept. 28, 1940, in Walworth; her parents; son, Larry E. Peters; six sisters, Helen Cowie, Ruth Blondo, Marion Martens, Vida McNab, Mary Hershey and Joyce Prentice; and brothers George Bradley and Robert Bradley.

A visitation will be Feb. 24 at the Brick Church, N1509 Brick School Road, Walworth, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Buchanan officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon Township.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Golden Years of Walworth, 270 Ridge Road, Walworth, WI 53184.

Toynton Funeral Home in Walworth is assisting the family.
