Epiphany means “manifestation and on this day we celebrate the revelation of Jesus Christ to everyone,” according to Pastor Elizabeth Lee of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walworth.

On Jan. 7 the church held an epiphany worship service that featured communion, participation from students in Christian education and confirmation classes, the church choir and WaterLife.

“This is going to be an amazing culmination to Christmas as we journey together following the star to the promise of God’s love coming into our world,” Lee wrote in a newsletter preceding the event.

In follow up communication, Lee said the epiphany is the Christian celebration of the Three Magi, or wise men, arriving in Bethlehem to pay homage to Jesus.
