Big Foot girls find balance in win over Trojans

The second time through the conference schedule takes a lot of the mystery out of the matchups as teams have plenty of information available about any given opponent.

Even with that fact – and that a young East Troy team had clearly improved from the first time around – the Big Foot girls basketball squad had plenty of firepower at its disposal in a 64-54 Rock Valley Conference home victory Jan. 15.

The win improved the Chiefs to 9-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play and still in the hunt for the RVC crown. Entering play this week, Jefferson led the standings at 9-0, followed by Big Foot and Whitewater at 7-2.

“We played well in most phases of the game (Monday),” Big Foot coach Rick Schoenbeck said. “We pressured them with many different defenses, and (East Troy) did a better job handling the pressure and not turning it over.”
