NORBERT KURZ

Norbert “Bert” Kurz, 70, of East Troy, went home to meet the Lord in Heaven on Jan. 8, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Bert was a member of the East Troy Lions Club since 1992 and was a past president. He served on many projects with the Lions Club such as pancake breakfast chairman, Fourth of July good stand, lodge director and numerous other Lions projects volunteering his services anywhere help was needed. He was honored with the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 2007-08.

He was also a member of the New Berlin Jaycees since 1980. He was awarded the Jaycees International Senator lifetime membership in 1985. He was a H.O.G. member and loved to ride his Harley with his wife and friends. He served our country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970 on the USS Little Rock CLG4 and the USS Fiske DD842. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

He met his loving wife of 38 years, Amy, and they were married in Milwaukee. They have been longtime East Troy residents.

Bert was a wonderful husband and friend who always put others before himself.

Survivors include his wife; brother, Walter (Nancy); sister, Angie; brother, Daryl (Whitney) Metcalf; niece, Kristine; nephew, Kenny; great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maria Anna Kurz (Reck), and a niece, Kerri Lyn Kurz.

Services were held Jan. 13.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, had the honor of serving the family.
