Taking the plunge

The first wave of participants at the Polar Plunge, held New Year’s Day at Pier 290 in Williams Bay, make their way back to the shore of Geneva Lake while the second wave of plungers head into the 30 degree water, described as “warm” by some compared to the subzero air temperature. In the background, passengers on a Gage Marine tour boat get a view from the lake. (Penny Gruetzmacher photo)
