Three Elkhorn Area High School wrestlers placed second in their respective weight classes, and it helped the Elks to a fourth-place finish Dec. 29 in the Mid-States Wrestling Classic at UW-Whitewater.
This season’s field at Mid-States featured 43 schools Wisconsin and Illinois.
“I’m really happy with how we wrestled,’ Elks coach Ken Reynolds said. “We were a match or two away from winning that tournament. I fully expected to wrestle toward first place in that tournament.”
