Program to focus on healthy alternatives to favorite foods

Claire Mathison

At the Lake Geneva Library at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17, nutrition testing practitioner Claire Mathison, will present “Healthy Alternatives for Your Favorite Foods.”

During the talk, Mathison will explore how food can be a healing medicine to get people back on track and symptom-less in 2018. Mathison will introduce alternatives to the foods that can trigger stressors and upset the natural balance of bodily systems. She will talk about foods that feed the body and replace processed food, high fructose corn syrup, chemical additives and pesticides. Participants will be given recipes and handouts to take home with them. The program is sponsored by the Lake Geneva Public Library.

Mathison is passionate about all things healing and conducts regular seminars on nutrition and healthy living. She is a nutritional therapy practitioner, a chiropractic technician and nutrition testing practitioner at Excel Family Chiropractic and Wellness in Lake Geneva. The focus of her practice is to find the stressors, or root cause, of why people are sick or in ill health, and use whole food supplements to correct those underlying issues for healing to begin. She has researched nutrition and its effects on the body, discovering foods that hinder the healing process and those that help.

Mathison has been in practice for four years, assisting individuals and families, with their day-to-day challenges and struggles with food and ill health. She is in the process of creating a compendium of tried and true recipes that help with vitality and health of the body, as well as a book on the nature of change. She is also a Reiki master teacher and has a private practice utilizing Reiki, along with spiritual companioning, to assist with another person’s healing and growth spiritually, physically and emotionally.
