EVERETTE D. CHRISTENSON

      Everette Duane Christenson, 71, of Sharon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Christmas Eve morning, Dec. 24, 2017, at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit.

Everette was born on May 29, 1946, in Elkhorn, to Kenneth and Elma (Clark) Christenson. Everette grew up on the family dairy farm in Sharon Township. He was a 1964 graduate of Big Foot High School, Walworth. On Nov. 9, 1968 he married Marjorie Lynn Lund in Stoughton. They celebrated 49 years of marriage in November.

Everette was employed at Chrysler Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Ill., for 36 years, retiring in 2001. He was in the material control department several years and retired in skilled trades as a welder repairman. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1268 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Harvard, Ill., for 48 years. He served on the Sharon Fire and Rescue Squad as an EMT. He also enjoyed singing with the Rock Valley Badger ChordHawks Barbershop Chorus. He was a charter member of the Norsemen of the Lakes Lodge 5-650. Among his many hobbies were gardening, music, reading, cooking and baking, canning vegetables from his garden, making jams and jellies and feeding and watching his hummingbirds all summer.

Everette is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his daughter, Carissa Lynn (Robert) Rollins; grandsons Mason and Nicholas Rollins; brothers Mark (Dorothy) Christenson and Kenneth (Pauline) Christenson; sisters Dixie (Jimmy) Ripley and Cindy (Jeff) Dutton; sister-in-law Muriel Lund-Michel; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving daughter Correna Kay (Cory) Christenson, and father- and mother-in-law Melvin and Lorraine Lund.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the fourth floor CICU of Beloit Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care of Everette.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon. Burial will follow at Brick Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to either Christ Lutheran Church, 228 Martin St, Sharon, WI 53585 or Sharon Fire and Rescue, 182 Park Ave, Sharon, WI 53585.
