The Whippets have tried to define themselves as a team after picking up two wins early on the season, one in the Rock Valley Conference and one in non-conference play.

Whitewater started the season 1-0 after beating Delavan-Darien on the road and then picked up its first and lone conference win to date on the season in the next game at Jefferson.

“We caught Jefferson on their first (conference) game of the year and we’re trying to figure out our identity,” Whitewater head coach Dan Gnatzig said. “It’s still early and we got to get back on the right track.”

The Whippets had a chance to dig themselves out of a hole in their home game against Edgerton on Dec. 14, which was a close game at halftime.
