The Whippets wrestlers competed in the 16-team, three-division Tom McGarvie Earlybird Scramble and finished with impressive results.

The scramble last Saturday was at Watertown. In the scramble format, wrestlers compete in two rounds and are then placed in pools based on their performances. Three of Whitewater’s wrestlers made the “A” pool, which included the top four in each weight class.

The best two wrestlers for the Whippets won their brackets in the top pool. Seniors Tyler Gamble and Jimmy DuVal dominated the field in their respective weight classes. Gamble made quick work of all his opponents by pinning them in the first minute and going 5-0 in the tournament at 106 pounds.

Gamble pinned Jaysen Delleree of Ozaukee in 42 seconds. He also pinned Austin Peter (Badger, 31 seconds), Lesley Neisius (Middleton, 30 seconds), Trevor Roskopf (Horicon, 55 seconds) and Damian Polanco (New London, 28 seconds).
