The target is firmly on the backs of the Big Foot girls basketball team heading into the 2017-18 campaign.

And it’s a challenge the Chiefs embrace.

Big Foot heads into the new season as the predicted favorite to win the Rock Valley Conference, according to a poll of coaches by wissports.net.

“They have been working my system through the youth program and the high school program,” he said. “This is the (senior) group that won the eighth-grade state title. We have lost a few of those girls, but the core is still here.

“I feel our goal is to win our conference and a regional title, (which) has never been done by Big Foot girls basketball. Winning on the road in the Rock Valley is very important. We now play each team home and away.”
