Coach says team will be prepared and play with passion, pride

Longtime Big Foot High School teacher Jeff Fenrick has had his eye on leading a boys basketball program for many years.
Now he’ll get his chance – and he didn’t have to leave the building to do so.
Fenrick takes over the Big Foot boys this winter after former coach Mike Dowden left at the end of last school year to take a position at Elkhorn. Fenrick, who has taught special education at Big Foot the past 12 years, spent four years as an assistant with the Chiefs and has coached at the high school level the past 11.
Practice began Monday and Fenrick said last week he couldn’t wait to get started.
“I am very excited to lead the Big Foot program,” he said. “Mike (Dowden) left it in good shape. It will be tough to follow him with his energy, enthusiasm and love for the game of Big Foot. We have some good young talent and also good leadership in our returning seniors.”
