While it was fleeting at best, the Big Foot football team opened last Friday night’s regular-season finale against visiting Evansville-Albany with a faint hope of a playoff berth.

It didn’t take long for the Blue Devils to take that hope away.

Evansville stormed out to a 42-0 halftime lead en route to a 49-0 victory Oct. 13 that ended the Chiefs’ season at 3-6 overall. The Blue Devils improved to 6-3 and will compete this week in the Division 3 playoffs.

The Blue Devils put together a complete effort, Big Foot coach Greg Enz said.

“I don’t know if there was any one phase that they did particularly well,” he said. “What stood out to me is that they were making plays.”
