The Big Foot-Williams Bay girls tennis doubles duo of seniors Meredith Heckert and Izzy Klesmith put the finishing touches on a solid campaign at last week’s WIAA Division 2 State Tournament in Madison.

Heckert-Klesmith won their first two matches before a loss to the eventual state runner up from Madison Edgewood, but bounced back to finish third overall.

The Big Foot, who were seeded second, duo closed the year at 24-3 overall.

“It was such a great weekend for Big Foot-Williams Bay tennis,” Big Foot coach Dan Dowden said. “Obviously, the podium was our goal, and seeing them accomplish it was amazing. We were very proud to see them up on the podium. Their hard work paid off.”
