Armed robbery suspect caught

A 28-year-old Lake Geneva man was arrested in connection with the armed robbery at the Phillips 66 station Sept. 28.

U.S. Marshals arrested Anthony Radencich at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Milwaukee and brought him to Lake Geneva for processing. He was later booked into and confined in the Walworth County Jail. He faces charges of armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Lake Geneva police responded to an armed robbery at Phillips 66 at 605 Williams St. at about 9:25 p.m. Sept. 28. Officers obtained a description of the suspect, who entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect left the store eastbound with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Radencich was apprehended five days later. He has been convicted of traffic, misdemeanor and felony offenses in Walworth, Racine and Milwaukee counties dating back to 2008. The felony convictions include identity theft, escape, possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacturing or delivering marijuana and resisting or obstructing an officer. Charges of felony fleeing an officer and riving with a revoked license are pending against him in Walworth County.
