Kenneth L. Redfern, 71, of Delavan, died Oct. 7, 2017, at his home under the care of Agrace Hospice with family by his side.

He was born in Island, Ky., April 20, 1946, to Walter and Mary (Green) Redfern. Ken married Phillis Land on April 14, 1967. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Peoples Energy of Chicago after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phillis; two children, Tonya (Brett) Surges, of Williams Bay, and Philip Redfern, of Wilmington, Ill.; three grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Colton Surges.

Ken was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. in Delavan. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Agrace Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion given to Ken during his final journey, especially Sandy, Sunny, Heidi and Gloria. Memorials can be directed to Agrace Hospice in Ken’s name.
