The Big Foot Wolves 7th/8th grade team continued to show its domination in a game against Hampshire Sept. 23.

Head coach Dave Freymiller said the final score of 46-34 doesn’t tell the whole story about the game.

“We don’t keep official records but I’ve been coaching for eight years and cannot recall a player accounting for seven touchdowns in one game,” Freymiller said.

That player is quarterback Basil Demco, who led the Wolves in last weekend’s game by throwing four passing touchdowns and running in three more.

“He has the privilege to have two tall and athletic receivers in Tyler Wilson and Augustus Foster who each had two receiving touchdowns in the game,” Freymiller said.

The team’s average scoring drive this season has been just under four plays, according to the coach. They have averaged more than 30 points in the four-game win-streak the team has going this season.

Coach John Quackenbush runs the defense for the Wolves and his unit held Hampshire to one score through three quarters on Sept. 23.

The anchors for the Wolves defense, which has only allowed two first half scores this season, are Nick Minor, Bryce Harvey and Nathan Hoyt, Freymiller said.

“At the end of three quarters we decided to make sure all of our players got some playing time on the field while Hampshire left in their starters,” Freymiller said.

The Wolves are currently leading the Northern Illinois Football Conference.

The next home game, Parents Day, will begin at noon on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Big Foot High School.
