The Elkhorn Area High School posted 48 personal best times Sept. 9 at home in its own Elkhorn Invitational.

The Elks finished fifth in the final team standings.

Elkhorn competed Tuesday in a Southern Lakes Conference dual meet at Burlington, and swims Saturday in an invite at Hononegah (Ill.) High School.

Elks coach Jamie Richardson said it was highlight just a handful of swimmers when her entire team swam so well in the program’s annual home invitational.

Paige Murphy finished third in the 50-meter freestyle (29.11) and also finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:10.46).

“I think she had a really nice in her 100 backstroke, and a really fast start in her 50 freestyle,” Richardson said. “She’s quick off the blocks.”

Competitors earned medals through eighth place.

Anna Manak finished third in the 100 freestyle (1:06.69) and fourth in the 50 freestyle (29.78).

“Right now, Anna is consistently under a minute in the 100 freestyle, if you convert it,” Richardson said. “That’s because we’re a metric pool. She’s already faster than she was last year in the 100 freestyle. That’s kind of exciting.”

Murphy, Alyssa Ambrose, Allison Schopf and Manak finished fifth in the 200 medley relay (2:16.99) and Sarah Broga, Olson, Amanda Papenfus and Manak finished fifth in the 200 freestyle relay (2:05.20).

Emma Olson finished sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:08.07) and Murphy, Papenfus, Broga and Olson finished sixth in the 400 freestyle relay (4:34.33).

The Elks scored 237 team points. McFarland won the invite (447).

Among SLC schools Whitewater finished sixth (234) and Delavan-Darien/Wisconsin School for the Deaf finished eighth (60).
