Generac to host hiring event Wednesday

Generac will host a hiring event from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at its Whitewater plant, 757 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater.

Generac is hiring for dozens of permanent and temporary positions in Whitewater and Jefferson, primarily in assembly and material handling. The company manufactures its market-leading automatic home standby generators in Whitewater, while the Jefferson facility makes portable generators, pressure washers and other outdoor power equipment, according to a press release.

The company is ramping up production to meet increased customer demand following Hurricane Harvey as well as anticipated demand from Hurricane Irma, the release states.

Positions are available for all shifts, and all full-time positions come with a complete benefits package. For college students willing to work part-time afternoons and evenings, flexible working hours are also available.

At this hiring event, all applicants will be interviewed by Generac hiring managers, have the opportunity to take a drug test and tour the facility, meaning they could leave the event with a job.

The company will be providing lunch to all applicants who attend between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
