The Elkhorn Area High School girls golf team recently got the toughest dual meet victory of any season out of the way.

The Elks beat Wilmot 216-233 Aug. 30 in a Southern Lakes Conference dual meet at Evergreen Country Club, and scored their first SLC dual meet victory of the season.

The Elks played Tuesday against Waterford at Rivermoor Golf Club in Waterford, and play Badger today at Evergreen, in SLC dual meets.

“The varsity was pretty consistent,” Elks coach Mark Malvitz said. “We are looking to improve as a group every week.”

Afton Malvitz led the Elks with a 52 over nine holes.

Hailey Czubernaut and Ava Greeley each finished at 54. Grace Christian carded a 56, and Payton Ross finished at 61.

Wilmot’s Keegan Destree led all golfers with a score of 45.

The Panthers’ Hannah Brendel shot a 59. Madison Bailey finished at 63 and Danielle Clark shot a 70.

The Elks are 1-2 in SLC dual meets with the victory.
