STEPHEN J. VOGT

      Stephen Joseph Vogt, 89, a long time resident of Elkhorn, died August 22, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute Care of Williams Bay.

Stephen was born on March 25, 1928, in Lyons, to the late George and Mathilde (Held) Vogt.

He lived on the family farm outside Elkhorn for more than 70 years. He was a farmer and enjoyed attending auctions to collect old tractors, machinery and tools. He loved visiting with family and hearing funny stories about their kids, pets and sports teams. Stephen was recently living, and was well cared for, at Atrium Post Acute Care, Williams Bay. The services of their staff and of Aurora Hospice brought him great comfort.

Stephen is survived by his brother, Louis (Michelle) Vogt; and sister-in-law, Doris Vogt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, George, Clarence, Philip, John, Charles; and his sisters, Marion, Bernice, and Louise.

Stephen will be missed by his family including many nieces and nephews who won’t forget their Uncle JoeJoe and the way he was always there with a smile and a Popsicle.

Funeral mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Church 107 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn with the Rev. Oriol Regales officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Elkhorn. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Elkhorn.

The family is being assisted by Haase-Lockwood and Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory of Elkhorn.
