Elkhorn man allegedly assaulted three girls

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 7 for an Elkhorn man charged with fondling and having sex with underage girls.

Mitchel C. Lothes, 18, was charged Aug. 2 in Walworth County Circuit Court with two counts of sexual assault of a child younger than 16 years old, second-degree sexual assault, child enticement and sexual intercourse with a child.

According to the criminal complaint, Lothes went to the Elkhorn home of two girls, ages 12 and 14, on July 10 and 11 where he repeatedly grabbed the girls’ breasts and “crotches” and slapped their buttocks. The girls said Lothes pulled the 14-year-old girl onto his lap by her “crotch,” and became aroused, according to the complaint. The girls said Lothes carried the 14-year-old girl into a bedroom, pinned her down by her arms and lay between her legs, according to the complaint. The girl said she kneed Lothes in the stomach, and he got off of her, but said Lothes had shown her a gun that he carries in his backpack and she was afraid he would get the gun, according to the complaint.

A third girl, who is 16 years old, said Lothes invited her to his Town of Sugar Creek home on July 17 where he took her into his bedroom, locked the door, pulled her leggings down and pushed her onto the bed, according to the complaint. The girl said Lothes pushed her onto the bed, straddled her, held her arms down and had sexual intercourse with her, according to the complaint. The girl said she was crying and told Lothes she needed to go. She said as she left the bedroom, Lothes said, “If you tell anyone, you won’t see what’s coming,” according to the complaint.
