Man charged with having sex with girl, 15

An East Troy man pleaded not guilty July 28 to sexual assault for having sex with an underage girl three years his junior.

Thomas J. Hunt, 18, was charged July 24 in Walworth County Circuit Court with sexual assault of a child younger than 16 years old as a repeater.

According to the criminal complaint, an East Troy police officer caught Hunt and a 15-year-old girl having sex in the back seat of a car in a school parking lot on Emery Street in East Troy at about 2:25 a.m. July 21. The girl told police she and Hunt also had sex about a week earlier at Hunt’s house, according to the complaint.

Hunt pleaded guilty in July 2016 to obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and bail jumping in cases that stemmed from having sex with a 13-year-old girl in a parked car and violating his bond by continuing to have contact with the 13-year-old girl.

Hunt, 18, is also charged with felony bail jumping as a repeater. While under bond conditions on the sexual assault charge that included having no contact with the 15-year-old victim, Hunt was allegedly text messaging the girl using a different name. Hunt pleaded not guilty to the felony bail jumping charges on July 28.
