Local, nonprofit senior housing community and rehab therapy provider East Troy Manor will host a community block party on Sunday, Aug. 20. All residents of East Troy and surrounding communities are invited to the family friendly event.

The party begins at 11:30 a.m. with East Troy Manor providing meat for grilling and buns. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass.

During the event, a live band will provide entertainment and kids can enjoy a bounce house. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase, with a variety of fun prizes up for grabs.

East Troy Manor Interim Administrator and Marketing Director Emily Karls said the event is a community-centered endeavor designed to give back.

“It’s because of the community that we’re still here,” she said. “I love East Troy; it’s a community unlike any other. You don’t get this kind of support in a city.”

As part of their goal to serve the community, East Troy Manor will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the local food pantry.

Residents and staff will be joining in the festivities. The Manor building will be open throughout the day, and in the afternoon, community members will be able to hear about the 40-year history of East Troy Manor.

Limited parking will be available at East Troy Manor, 3271 North St., with additional street parking available nearby. The event will be held rain or shine.

East Troy Manor is looking for sponsors willing to provide food for the event. For more information, or to make a donation, call (262) 642-3995.
