ANDREW SAFRANIEC

      Andrew T. Safraniec, 27, of Harvard, Ill., formerly of Walworth, died unexpectedly at Rockford Memorial (Mercy) Hospital.

He was born Aug. 14, 1989, in Woodstock, Ill., to Bruce Safraniec and Michele L. Whiting. He graduated from Big Foot High School, Class of 2008, and attended Gateway College in Elkhorn. He was employed as an industrial electrician.

He is survived by his parents, Jason and Michele Urquhart; his father, Bruce Safraniec; sisters, Jade Urquhart, of Walworth, and Melany Safraniec; maternal frandfather, Roger Whiting, of Woodstock, Ill.; paternal grandmothers, Judy Urquhart, of Wonder Lake, Ill. and Helen Safraniec, of Bull Valley, Ill.; aunts Lucy (Fred) Krchak, of Woodstock, Ill., Kathy (Al) Wille, of Woodstock, Ill., and Jan (Dan) Terlikowski, of Sharon; uncles Joe (Maureen) Whiting, of Marengo, Ill., and Mike (Jennifer) Safraniec, of Crystal Lake, Ill.; cherished cousins Amy Peterson, Katie (Brett) Aulwes, Courtney (Jeremy) Recklein, Michael (Rustina) Terlikowski, Sara Terlikowski, Chad (Sarah) Wille, Haley Whiting, Noah Peterson and Allison Whiting. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Yvonne Whiting; paternal grandfather, Steve Safraniec and Ken Urquhart; and maternal aunt, Betty Hayes.

Andrew loved the outdoors, camping and spending time with friends and family. He had a big heart and was quick to laugh and lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed and forever in his loved ones’ hearts.

A celebration of Andrew’s life will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Walworth with the Rev. Roger Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of the service. Steinke-Lazarczyk Funeral Home and Cremation Services Lake Geneva is assisting the family.
