Larry G. Ritchey

Larry G. Ritchey; 70, of East Troy, died July 26, 2017, at Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Hospital, Milwaukee, after fighting a battle against Multiple Myeloma cancer for more than six years.

Larry was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Elkhorn, to the late Gerald O. and Lucille E. (Annis) Ritchey. He graduated from East Troy High School with the Class of 1965. He then spent the summer and fall doing carpenter work with his late uncle Ray Annis.

During January of 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a four-year tour of duty. His last year of service was spent in DaNang, Vietnam, after which he received an honorable discharge in 1969.

He spent the next 40 years working as a warehouse man in Milwaukee at a wholesale heating and air conditioning supply company.

He was united in marriage to Carla Jensen on Oct. 12, 1985.

He was a member of the Troy Center Fire Department (about five years), East Troy Snow Trojans Snowmobile Club, and the East Troy Lake Association.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting, camping, biking, collecting Hallmark ornaments, and traveling to Disney World and Hawaii.

He is survived by his loving wife; sister, Sharon (Wayne Lombardo) Ritchey, Carefree, Ariz., two nieces and four nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service, with military honors, was July 31 at Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Troy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the East Troy Food Pantry or Salvation Army are suggested.
