JOYCE M. SCHWARTZ

      Joyce M. Schwartz, age 86 of Monroe, Wis., died on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Monroe Clinic Hospital.

She was born May 21, 1926 in East Troy, Wis., the daughter of Eldred and Esther (Tess) Kehoe and graduated from East Troy High School in 1944.

Joyce did secretarial work for Tews Company in Milwaukee and Trent Tube in East Troy.

Joyce married Victor A. Schwartz on April 10, 1948 in East Troy.

She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe and former member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville where she volunteered for various groups including her children’s school activities, and later was active in Neillsville Homemakers. “Joyce was the Best Wife, Mother, and Grandmother in the World.”

Surviving are her husband, Victor Schwartz of Monroe; daughters, Mary (Steve) Madsen of Monroe, Katie (Bob) VanStedum of Oregon, Ill., Jeannie (Jim) Brehmer of Appleton, Lori (Dave) Sievers of Janesville, and Beth (Eric) Penfold of Libertyville, Ill.; sisters, Ruth Howard of East Troy, and Lois Crubaugh of East Troy; grandchildren, David and Erik (Kris) Madsen, Adam, Erin, and Lauren Brehmer, Emma, Holly, and Kylie Sievers, and Sophie and Clare Penfold; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th St., Monroe, with Fr. Larry Bakke celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and North 18th Avenue in Monroe with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. and at church from 10 a.m. to time of Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday.

The family suggested memorial donations to St. Victor Catholic Church or Monroe Clinic Hospital in Joyce’s memory.
