FREMON L. DORN

Fremon L. Dorn, 95 of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully June 23, 2017, at Wisconsin Veteran Home in Union Grove.

He was born May 5, 1922, to the late Herman and Martha Dorn. He married Virginia Heusser on Nov. 25, 1949, in Elkhorn. Virginia preceded him in death on March 16, 2014.

Fremon served in United States Army during WWII. He was a loving and devoted member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. He was truck driver for William O’Donnell and later LCL. He drove over one million miles with no accidents.

He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He loved being outdoors whether it be doing yard work, gardening or bird watching.

Fremon is survived by his four children, Bette Ann (Lou) Michael of Aurora, Ill., Jeannine (Raymond) Kayser of Elkhorn, Rhonda (Steven) Smith, and Michael Dorn of Elkhorn; five grandchildren, Randy (Mary) Kayser, Quentin “BZ” (Rebecca) Kayser, Jamzie (Anthony) Willis, Lindsay (Adam) Zimpelmann and Callan (Dan) Althaus; seven great-grandchildren, Shane (Katie), Jordan (Kassie) and Chandler Kayser, Nashella Smith, Camron Willis, Asher and Ezra Zimpelmann and one great-great-grandson, Landon Kayser. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Walter (Viola) Dorn and Allen (Lorran) Dorn; a sister, Gladys (Paul) Coerper and a great-granddaughter, Camia Willis.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 Devendorf St. Elkhorn, with the Rev. Wayne Meier officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church. Interment will follow services at Hazel Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors.
