Spring all-conference teams named

10 East Troy players recognized in RVC North

Five members of the East Troy High School softball team recently landed on All-Rock Valley Conference North Division squads.

Leading the way was senior Kaitlyn O’Connell, who was voted to the team as a utility player.

Joining O’Connell were second-team picks Erin Rice (sophomore, infield) and Sophia Heimos (sophomore, utility), along with junior Samantha Donahoue and senior Maria Longstreet, who were named honorable mention.

McFarland’s Mia Hoveland was named Player of the Year and Evansville’s Charity Kostroun was named Coach of the Year.

Soccer trio honored

The girls soccer squad had three players honored, led by freshman midfielder Maddie Desing, who was named to the second team. Seniors Jessica Gulig and Kayla Casper were voted honorable mention.

Baseball lands two

The East Troy baseball team had two players recognized as honorable mention selections.

Named by the coaches were sophomore Roman Evans and junior Logan Mitchell.

Jefferson swept the special honors, as Ian Drays and Greg Fetherston were named Player and Coach of the Year, respectively.
