The Elkhorn Soccer Club U15 Boys Premier team participated in the Wisconsin President’s Cup the weekend of May 20 and qualified for the regional competition – only the second time a local club team has done so.

The first day of games at the Wisconsin competition left the team with a draw and a win and seeded third in the tournament. After a 3-1 victory over the No. 2 seed in the first playoff game, the Elkhorn boys advanced to the championship game against a highly favored FC Wisconsin Midwest Regional League team, according to local team representatives.

Elkhorn scored early in the game and defended their goal for the remainder of the game, not letting the other team score. After a hard won battle on the pitch, Elkhorn was ultimately victorious with a score of 1-0.

The win advances the team to the 2017 Region II (Midwest) Presidents Cup in Overland Park, Kansas, set for June 15 through 19. It will be the second Elkhorn Soccer Club team to compete at that level.

The team is accepting personal donations and corporate sponsorships. Those interested in supporting the team are asked to call Lori Ahler at (262) 203-6467.
