Elkhorn police investigate suspicious fires

The Elkhorn Police Department is currently investigating several suspicious fires within the city.

Over the past two months the police and fire departments have responded to suspicious fires at the following locations, according to a press release from the Elkhorn Police Department:

  • 1 W. Walworth St. for a dumpster fire at 11:41 p.m., March 28;
  • 104 W. Court St. for a structure fire at 12:16 a.m., March 29;
  • 445 Hartwell St. for structure fire at 11:17 a.m., April 22;
  • 917 Gorman St. for a dumpster fire at 1:52 a.m., April 25;
  • 801 Gorman St. for a structure fire at 2:21 p.m., April 26;
  • 112 Ridgeway Ct. for a dumpster fire at 9:28 p.m., Mary 7, and;
  • 821 Gorman St. for a structure fire at 10:18 p.m., May 7.

The fires remain under investigation and the Elkhorn Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance.

Anyone that has information related to the fires, has seen suspicious activity, or has information relating to a suspect(s) contact Detective Thomas Bushey at the Elkhorn Police Department at (262) 723-2210, Walworth County Crime Stoppers at (262) 723-2677 (723-COPS), or the Arson Hotline at (800) 362-3005.

Tipsters may remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
