MARY LOU MCCABE

      Mary Lou McCabe, 82, of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully March 16, 2017, on her 54th wedding anniversary at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Spring Green. She was the daughter of the late George and Mae (Michels) Richards. On March 16, 1963, she was united in marriage to George E. McCabe in Rockton, Ill. Mary Lou worked as a machine operator for Andes Candies of Delavan until her retirement in 1996. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed all the family gatherings.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, George; three children, Diane (Randy Licht) Flitcroft, Kristi (Paris) Hay and Mark (Cathy) McCabe; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Davidson of Deforest, and Lois Swaziek of Menomonie; her brother-in-law, Max Stueber of Watertown; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Bauer, Berneice Stueber and Elizabeth Coyne; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Arlene) Richards, Wilbur (Maybelle) Richards, and Lyle (Karen) Richards; and two brothers-in-law, Tony Bauer and Lucius Davidson.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational-United Church of Christ, 76 South Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, with the Rev. Dr. Scott McLeod officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 4 until 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary Lou’s name to First Congregational-United Church of Christ or CASANA-Brianna’s Voice 416 Lincoln Ave 2nd Floor Pittsburg, PA 15209.
