Whitewater Historical Society once again accepting brick orders

One hundred bricks memorializing Whitewater area residents, families, friends and businesses, past and present, were recently laid by the City of Whitewater thanks to Chuck Nass and his staff. The sale of bricks helped support the Whitewater Historical Society’s effort to raise $40,000 as a cash match to its restoration grant.

The Whitewater Historical Society has completed the first round of its “Buy a Brick” campaign to raise funds to give the historic train depot in Cravath Lakefront Park a facelift with much success.

Bricks previously ordered by Whitewater area residents in support of the depot restoration project were recently laid in the walkway leading to the depot museum’s new front doors.

The Whitewater Historical Society is still accepting new brick orders to help support its new exhibits and installation costs.

A second order will be placed early in 2013. The new bricks will be laid with the others in spring or early summer of next year.

To place an order, contact Ellen Penwell at (262) 203-6529 or email espenwell@gmail.com.
