ROGER D. ELLEFSON

wt-12816-obit-ellefson      Roger D. Ellefson, 74, of Clinton, and formerly of Sharon, died Dec. 1, 2016, at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 13, 1942, in Viroqua, to Arthur and Dorothy (Salisbury) Ellefson. He married Joan Miller and she preceded him in death in 1965. He later married Marlene Wojcik on Dec. 23, 1966. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2005.

He was a foreman at the Sharon Foundry for more than 50 years, retiring in 2007. His passion was taking care of his farm animals. Roger enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, woodworking and making metal and cast iron castings. He was also a die-hard John Deere tractor fan.

He is survived by his five children, Judy (Rick) Erickson, of Darien, Mike (Cindy) Ellefson, of Jacksonville, N.C., Todd (Karyn) Ellefson, of Walworth, Brad (Elizabeth) Ellefson, of Clinton, and Matt Ellefson; nine grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jason, Mary, Zachary, Amber, Jacob, Renee, Brandon and Caleb; nine great grandchildren; and three sisters, Betty Keller, of California, Bonnie Nelson, of Delavan, and Beverly (Don) Congdon, of Beloit.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Ellefson; and two brothers, Robert and Rodney Ellefson.

A celebration of life will be at a later date. Daley Murphy Wisch and Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, is assisting the family.
