A man charged with shooting and killing his brother-in-law in Whitewater Tuesday morning is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 4.

Alan M. Johnson, 31, is scheduled to make an initial appearance on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide for the shooting death of Kenneth J. Myszkewicz, 43, in Whitewater on Oct. 25.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to Myszkewicz’s West Peck
Street home in Whitewater at about 2:20 a.m. after Kimberly Myszkewicz called 911, believing that her husband had fallen and hit his head.

Police discovered Kenneth Myszkewicz had been shot and questioned Johnson, Kimberly Myszkewicz’s brother, who initially denied involvement. However, later Tuesday, Johnson admitted killing Myszkewicz and said he intended to shoot his brother-in-law and then kill himself, according to the complaint.
