The first item on the Big Foot volleyball team’s to-do list at the start of the year was to make a run at another Rock Valley Conference title.

Mission accomplished.

The Chiefs clinched at least a share of their eighth RVC crown with a 25-14, 25-16, 25-12 win Tuesday night over visiting Parkview.

Big Foot improved to 25-7 overall and 7-0 in the RVC with two regular-season matches left.

“Everyone was able to contribute in helping put up the 2016 (banner) on the gym wall,” Big Foot coach Caitlin Dowden said. “We have accomplished the first of many goals and now are looking to move on to taking the title on our own.

“The girls have been working hard to stay disciplined and get better each time we are in the gym and they are doing just that.”

Leaders Tuesday were senior Gloria Esarco (10 kills, 17 digs, four aces) and sophomore Kampbell Hehr (30 assists).

The win Tuesday came on the heels of a 25-16, 18-25, 25-16, 25-12 win Sept. 29 over visiting Brodhead-Juda.

Leading the way were Esarco (16 kills), junior Payton Courier (two blocks), Kampbell Hehr (19 digs, 30 assists) and senior Katie Santeler (12 aces).

Big Foot traveled to Clinton Thursday and will play at Beloit Turner next Tuesday, Oct. 11, in its RVC regular-season finale.
