DEACON DONALD J. KUBAN

Deacon Donald J. Kuban of East Troy and Phoenix, Ariz. returned to the arms of the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the age of 77 years.

He was born on July 22, 1935 in Town of Lake, Wis. to his parents, Joseph J. and Helen (Siwieck).

Don attended South Milwaukee High School and Marquette Medical School earning his degree as an M.D.

Donald married his wife of 50 years, Therese (nee Brukbacher) on Dec. 29, 1962 in Milwaukee, and then served his country as a lieutenant Navy doctor for the U.S. Marines.

Don and his wife lived in Phoenix, Ariz. and spent summers in East Troy.

Donald worked many years as a lab physician, for many hospitals and blood centers, working primarily on cancer cells. Don was a member of the A.M.A. and was the medical director of the Genetics Center in Ariz.

He was ordained a Deacon on Nov. 3, 1989 and served at St. Thomas The Apostle Church in Phoenix and most recently served at Most Holy Trinity Church since 1994.

He also served at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy, where he led The Mother of Perpetual Help Devotion and Benediction on Tuesday evenings.

He was also involved in the National Centre for Padre Pio, located in Penn.

Donald is survived by his wife, Therese; daughter, Anne Marie (Paul Burd) Kuban of Portland, Ore.; son, Paul Joseph of Mesa, Ariz.; brother-in-law, John Brukbacher and family; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends, also survive him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Jerome and stepmother Vicki Kuban.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Troy on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. with a visitation from 4-6 p.m.,  followed by rosary interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cudahy.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, assisted the family.
