The Elkhorn Area High School baseball team opened WIAA Division 1 postseason play Tuesday needing to break a four-game losing streak if it hoped to keep its season going.

The Elks (4-14, 4-10 SLC) played Janesville Parker (9-8) Tuesday at Parker in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal contest. The winner plays today at second-seeded Fort Atkinson (14-11) in the regional final.

The Elks are seeded 12th in their sectional bracket. Parker is seeded fifth.

The Elks lost 10-0 to Union Grove May 26 in a Southern Lakes Conference game at Union Grove.

Elkhorn lost a non-conference game 7-3 May 24 at Big Foot and lost a non-conference game 12-6 May 23 at Jefferson.

Union Grove (10-14, 6-8 SLC) scored five runs in the first two innings, and added four in the fourth inning and another run in the sixth before the game was called due to the 10-Run Rule.

Broncos pitcher Nolan Rebernick limited the Elks to five hits and struck out four. Elkhorn also committed two errors.

Jet Weber, Ian Nowell, Lucas Harding, Ross Ingersoll and Brandon Komar each finished with hits for the Elks.
