Board to screen district administrator candidates

Finalists expected to be announced after June 2

As the search for a new District Administrator continues, the school board is set to conduct confidential screening interviews May 31 and June 2 after which time the names of the finalists, most likely three people, will be announced.

In a letter this week from Board President Casey Judd, he thanks district staff, parents and members of the community for participating in focus groups and the online survey that helped develop a profile for a new administrator.

The purpose of the profile is to assist with candidate recruitment and recommendation, provide insight and assist in the decision-making process for the board, and provide guidance to the new administrator upon being selected. School Exec Connect consultants Matt Gibson and Sarah Jerome presented the profile at Monday’s school board meeting.

Following the board conducting screening interviews of the candidates to determine the finalists, interview committees will have the opportunity to meet with each finalist June 7, 8 and 9 and provide written feedback to the board on observed strengths and questions, Judd wrote in the letter.

The compiled feedback will help the board customize its final round of interviews targeted for June 14, 15 and 16.

“If all goes well, contract approval for the new district administrator for the Whitewater Unified School District is targeted for the June 27 School Board meeting,” Judd wrote.
