The East Troy Community School District broke ground on it new elementary school Friday afternoon.

The new school, which will house students in kindergarten through second grade is being built next the Prairie View Elementary on the corner of Highway ES and Townline Road.

The program featured singing by the fifth graders and all the kids from Doubek Elementary School will be in attendance to represent their new school.

The new school has not been named, but the School Board will hear the suggestions created by the Doubek students for their new school at Monday night’s meeting. The students came up with multiple ideas, which were distilled down to four that were presented to the student body to vote on at the end of March. The students also made a video to present their suggestions to the School Board tonight.
