This weekend follow the yellow brick road over to Walworth Middle School for its production of the “Wizard of Oz.”

The Walworth Middle School will be presenting the Young Performer’s Edition at 6:30 p.m. this Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Tickets for adults cost $5 and children’s tickets are $3.

The story, for anyone who doesn’t know the Wizard of Oz, is about Dorothy who lives on a farm in Kansas and is injured during a tornado. She takes a journey in her mind over the rainbow to Oz where she meets good witch, Glinda and the munchkins. She makes friends with a Scarecrow, the Tin Man and a Lion, who travel with her to find the Wizard hoping to get for themselves a brain, heart and courage. Dorothy just wants to find a way home.

They encounter a wicked witch in the process but are able to escape and find what they were hoping for. Dorothy discovers that it’s not where you go, but who you meet along the way that is most important.
