ALBERT VANDER VEEN

Vander Veen%2C Albert Pic      Albert Vander Veen, 95, of Delavan, died March 19, 2016, at Holton Manor in Elkhorn. He was born in Burum, Holland, July 21, 1920, to the late Gustave and Anna (DeVries) Vander Veen.

He married Dorothy Korringa on Dec. 30, 1949. She preceded him in death April 2, 2011.

He farmed for many years in the Delavan area. He was a charter member of the Delavan Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed bowling in his earlier years, restoring old John Deere tractors, and traveling with his wife.

Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis Roossien, Grand Rapids, Mich.; sons, Norm (Cheryl) Vander Veen and Lyle Vander Veen, both of Delavan; grandchildren, Stephen Roossien, Breanna (Chris) Bolek and Brian and Jeff Vander Veen; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Brinley; sister, Bernice DeWeerd, Delavan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was further preceded in death by his son, Alan.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, at Delavan Christian Reformed Church, 850 Oak St., Delavan. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Memorials can be directed to the Delavan Christian School.
