Meth lab busted in Lake Geneva

A methamphetamine lab was raided and its suspected operator arrested in Lake Geneva last week.

On Feb. 25, a house at 1134 Williams St. was searched and resident Michael R. Koerner, 29, was arrested. Koerner is scheduled to appear in Walworth County Circuit Court on Thursday for a bond hearing and is expected to be charged with possession of methamphetamine precursor materials, possession of methamphetamine waste and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia.

The search of Koerner’s home turned up methamphetamine precursors, waste, and paraphernalia. The search was conducted by the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit, Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, City of Lake Geneva Police Department and Milwaukee Drug Enforcement Administration.

City of Lake Geneva fire and rescue departments assisted with the operation, which required subsequent hazardous materials clean-up, according to a press release from the drug enforcement unit.
