Town of Geneva woman dies in crash

A Town of Geneva woman died in a car crash last week in Lake Geneva.

Pamela Bennett, 58, died at Mercy Walworth Medical Center after a three-car crash on Main Street west of Elmwood Avenue at about 4:15 p.m. Feb. 16, according to a press release from the Lake Geneva Police Department.

The crash involved three vehicles, and the car Bennett was driving sustained severe damage to the driver’s side, according to the release. Bennett was taken by ambulance to Mercy Walworth where she succumbed to her injuries, according to Police Chief Michael S. Rasmussen.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were Benjamin Odden, 19, of the Town of Linn, and Jennafer Kase, 45, of the Town of Geneva. Neither was injured, according to police.

The initial investigation indicates Bennett was driving west on Main Street west of Elmwood Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle. Bennett’s vehicle slid sideways exposing the driver’s side of her vehicle in the eastbound lane of traffic and struck the eastbound vehicle operated by Odden, according to the release. Kase’s vehicle then struck Odden’s vehicle.
