A preliminary hearing is scheduled for an Elkhorn man charged with sexually assaulting 7- and 9-year-old girls in Lake Geneva about five years ago.

Luis A. Luna, 30, whose address is listed as the Walworth County Jail, was charged Feb. 5 in Walworth County Circuit Court with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, contact with a child under age 13. Each charge – one count for each of the now 12- and 14-year-old girls – carries a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, the girls reported in December that Luna, who knew their family, touched them sexually and watched them in the shower when they were 7 and 9 years old and lived in Lake Geneva.

The younger girl said Luna came into the bed that the girls shared at times when their mother was not home and touched the girls inappropriately, according to the complaint.

The older girl said when they lived in Walworth, Luna placed her across his lap and made her touch his “intimate parts” according to the complaint. The girl said Luna also frequently “spooned” her and she could feel his genitals against her, according to the complaint.
